Geisinger Medication Assisted Treatment Program

Patients in the program receive medication assisted treatment in order to combat the physical and mental symptoms opioid abuse, dependence, and addiction. Services include medications to reduce cravings and prevent intoxication, coordination with concurrent therapy and 12-step meetings designed to provide the tools for living a productive life while avoiding relapse, coordination with outpatient drug and alcohol counseling, weekly and monthly appointments with the MAT healthcare team and coordination of family members help in the treatment process. Patients may be referred by a physician or may self-refer by calling the clinics directly.

Geisinger Outpatient Addiction Treatment

Provides comprehensive programs in an outpatient setting to accommodate individual needs and unique personal situations. Offers two levels of care which accommodate not only the treatment needs of the individual at the time of the initial intake or transfer, but other circumstances, such as work schedules. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a level of care designed for individuals 18 years and older who require a more intensive treatment structure. There is a daytime and evening IOP to accommodate the schedule of the individual. The IOP occurs four times per week and lasts for approximately four weeks. Some of the services include psychoeducational therapy on addiction and relapse prevention, weekly individual counseling, daily group counseling, and multi-family counseling group. The Outpatient Program is a level of care designed for individuals 18 years and older who require ongoing support for their recovery. Some of the services include individual counseling, weekly group counseling, weekly healthcare professional group counseling, and family counseling.

Catherine McAuley Center Transitional Housing for Families Program

Operates a ten-unit scattered site transitional housing program for homeless women with or without children. Clients coming from the Center's Emergency Shelter or the Women's Resource Center Shelter receive rental assistance and supportive services while residing in scattered site apartments. Services include case management, assistance in acquiring safe housing, rental, and utilities assistance for up to 12 months, life Skills training and goal setting, furniture and household items, emergency food and clothing, art therapy, counseling and legal services, assistance with job training and education, linkages to community agencies, and recreational opportunities. Eligibility: Homeless women with or without children.
