
North Penn Legal Services – Scranton Office
This organization provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals located in any of the listed counties in Northeastern PA. Areas of legal help they can assist with include: assistance for seniors, consumer, children & family, protection from abuse, education & school, employment & unemployment compensation, landlord/tenant rights, home ownership, public benefits, and social security benefits.
Persons from low-income households can get free legal services. The financial eligibility standards are based on family size and gross income and are set each yet at 25% above the Federal Poverty Level. Emergency legal services may be provided to victims of domestic violence without regard to income. Community organizations whose members are mostly low-income families may also qualify for free legal services. In order to seek services, individuals must complete the intake process to ensure they meet income and other requirements. Prior to contacting, please ensure you have any paperwork, letters, leases, contracts, or other relevant information regarding your problem with you (the advocate may ask for this information).
