The annual Appellate Academy training takes place every fall in Harrisburg. Welcoming both appellate and trial attorneys, it encourages cross-county collaboration and serves as a knowledge exchange opportunity for Pennsylvania’s appellate community.
This training is specifically designed to help address appellate-related issues occurring across the state of Pennsylvania. The “bring your own appeal” portion of the programming gives participants a chance to work on their own pending cases, addressing all types of issues in all stages of the appellate process. Appellate attorneys from across the state also present topical litigation-related cases and research updates as well as best practices for preserving the record. PA Superior Court Judges have presented and shared their thoughts on advocacy through briefs and oral arguments.
The 2024 Appellate Academy featured topics such as probation reform, AI, and electronic discovery in appeals.
