Trial Skills Bring Your Own Case Conference

Trial Skills Bring Your Own Case Conference

The annual Trial Skills Bring Your Own Case (“BYOC”) Conference takes place each summer.

This is a theory of defense based training. Each participant must bring their own case to workshop throughout the training. Participants will learn skills and practice: Brainstorming Narrative and Theory of Defense, Voir Dire, Opening Statements, Cross Examination, Direct Examination, and Closing Arguments. We will also be offering programming regarding Public Defender wellness, and tools to sustain ourselves in the work.

This training is designed for Defender attorneys ranging from novice to moderate level of experience handling trials. Our target audience is an attorney who has tried 0-10 jury trials. Each attorney must have an active case that they can bring to the training to workshop.
