I’m Kate Baltes, and I’ve been a public defender at the Defender Association of Philadelphia for a little over a year. I’m currently in the Municipal Court unit handling preliminary hearings and misdemeanor trials. I grew up in Bucks County and attended Temple University for law school. I really enjoy the challenge of the job. In my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, and spending time with friends.

Our mission is to provide tools, strategies, mutual support, training and information to Public Defender Offices in Pennsylvania; to be the voice of public defense in Pennsylvania; and to promote best practices in the leadership, management, and administration of justice in Pennsylvania.
