Attorney Ángela-Patricia Ramos was born and raised in the warmth and sunlight of Puerto Rico. She graduated with distinction from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, where she dual-majored in Political Science and History.
Attorney Ramos is a proud graduate of Rutgers Law School. While at Rutgers, she worked as a Certified Legal Intern at the Office of the Attorney General of New Jersey and in the Rutgers Immigrant Justice Clinic. Additionally, she was selected for the National Mock Trial Team and served as a teaching assistant in the Trial Advocacy Program. She also participated in the Street Law Project, where she taught a constitutional law course to high school students, and the Voters’ Rights Project, where she registered incarcerated individuals to vote, and served as a volunteer elections deputy. One highlight of her law school experience was the opportunity to study constitutional law in South Africa and meet several justices of the Constitutional Court. At graduation, Attorney Ramos was awarded the Rutgers Law School Pro Bono Publico Award for Significant Service to the Community. Attorney Ramos served as a judicial law clerk in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Attorney Ramos joined the Monroe County Public Defender Office in November 2021. She is a native Spanish speaker and frequently provides Spanish-language interpretation services to the clients of the Public Defender Office.
