Bill Sanchez serves as an Assistant Public Defender in Monroe County, PA. Bill has been a member of this office since the spring of 2024. He believes in the holistic approach to public defense. His office operates via vertical representation. Bill is assigned to cases from summary to felony offenses and represents both adults and juveniles.
Prior to Monroe County, Bill was a Public Defender in Indianapolis, where he started in public defense as a certified legal intern in 2021. He started full time there in 2022. Bill has jury trial experience in misdemeanor and felony cases from both Indiana and Pennsylvania. Bill attended law school at Indiana University Maurer School of Law (Bloomington, IN) and undergrad at Saint Peter’s University (Jersey City, NJ).
Bill is a lifelong public servant. He enlisted in the Army Reserves at 18 and, after 11 years of service, was discharged in April 2024 from the National Guard as a Captain in the Engineer Corps. Bill hopes to continue his service in public defense, which was the reason he attended law school in the first place.
Bill has been happily married for 7 years. He has two adorable dogs and a cat. He enjoys running 5Ks with his spouse, who he met in undergrad, binge watching TV shows and movies, target shooting, and antiquing.
