Jacqueline Pitts is an Assistant Public Defender at the Schuylkill County Public Defender’s Office, where she began her career in January 2024. Jacqueline handles cases from preliminary hearings through to appeals and has already participated in her first jury trial. As the Public Defender position is part-time, she is also an associate in a general law practice, focusing on family law, real estate, and civil litigation.
Jacqueline graduated summa cum laude from Widener University Commonwealth Law School in Harrisburg, where she earned her law degree. Jacqueline also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Temple university, where she graduated cum laude in 2019. During law school, she was an active member of the Law Review and the Moot Court Team. Jacqueline gained valuable experience through internships with Chief Justice Thomas Saylor of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court during her second year and the Dauphin County Public Defender’s Office in her third year.
Outside of her legal work, Jacqueline is deeply committed to community and professional service. She serves as a co-chair of Zone 2 in the Pennsylvania Bar Young Lawyers Division, is a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Organization of Tamaqua, and is an active participant in the Schuylkill County Women’s Law Caucus.
In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys staying active by going to the gym, practicing yoga, or getting lost in a good book.
