Michael Sylvester

My name is Michael Sylvester and I am an Assistant Public Defender at the Cambria County Public Defender’s Office. I have been with this office since graduating law school in May of 2020. I handle a full adult caseload which ranges from DUIs to being co-counsel on homicide cases.

I grew up in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania before attending undergrad at Lycoming College. I completed law school at Duquesne University, where I interned with the Allegheny Office of Conflict Counsel and the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender. In addition to the Emerging Leader Academy, I serve as a co-chair of Zone 8 in the Pennsylvania Bar Young Lawyers Division. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing board games with my wife, and watching whatever Pittsburgh sports team happens to be on my TV.
