Impact of Padilla and ICE in the Courtrooms
PDAP is partnering with Delaware County to present immigration attorneys from the Nationalities Service Center, Lilah Thompson and Mikaela Wolf-Sorokin, and the Defender Association of Philadelphia, Whitney Viets. We are all joining forces to present an immigration-focused Know Your Rights session for attorneys and client advocates. Learn how to handle the presence of ICE in the courtrooms and what you can do to help your clients. The session will also provide a refresher on the impact of Padilla on the work of Public Defenders and how we MUST advise our clients in the face of immigration consequences.
This will be a hybrid training from 2:30 to 4:30 on Wednesday, October 8th. Delaware County PDs are welcome to join us in person in the second-floor conference room at 220 N. Jackson Street. All others are asked to join remotely.
